Kaitlin Kenney dives in to the data behind the Consumer Price Index.

Kaitlin tails George Minichiello, a one of hundreds of Bureau of Labor Statistics employees who go to stores all over the country and record the prices of thousands of different items. Their work drives the CPI, a key economic indicator that measures inflation in the U.S.. It influences everything from Social Security checks to the price of school lunches to how big your raise will be next year.
