Okay so I know I'm super late to this party but I just picked this up on Switch. My hope was that this might fill a void being rapidly created by Hades (which my spouse and I both have played to death now) and wow, I was not disappointed.

This freaking game, man. I've made it maybe 8 hours into Metroid Dread, so this might not be a fair judgement, but I'm already 30 hours into Dead Cells and I just like it more.

The action feels so much more fluid and powerful and fun -- every move chains together in such a satisfying, smooth way. The game feels fresh and exciting with every new run. Everything about it just seems so well designed and thought out. I'm even doing runs with weapon combos that I traditionally have not enjoyed in similar games, e.g. shields.

This game rules. Can't recommend it highly enough. On Switch the FPS is rock solid. Only negative I'd say is that the music doesn't blow me away (Hades really set the bar high on that one) but other than that? This game is a 10/10 so far.

I'm also hitting the wall with Hades, and I only downloaded the demo of Metroid Dread but it didn't grab me at all. Thanks for posting this - I'll check it out.
