I went into this knowing basically nothing about it other than it starred Neil Maskell and was a revenge picture — that was good enough for me, as I love a good revenge picture. Yikes. I was not prepared for how dark and brutally violent this was. I was watching it on an Amtrak train up to central New York, and there was one scene where I jumped and gasped so loudly that a couple of people turned to stare at me.

Having said that, I liked it a lot, largely because of Maskell’s performance, which is riveting. David Hayman is also very fine, and is the center of arguably the scariest scene in the entire movie (accomplished with zero violence at all, as it happens). If you like revenge thrillers, I definitely recommend this, but do brace yourself.

Sounds great! Have you seen "I Saw the Devil?" Wondering where it sits in relation.

I have indeed, and I love that one too. I actually liked them about equally, I’d say, although it’s been at least four or five years since I saw IStD. And now you’ve made me want to go back and watch IStD to compare them!
