As with any adaptation, there are a number differences from other canonical works: Nova's origin, Nebula's background, Drax is an android, Thanos is entralled with Chaos rather than Death and apparently has psychic powers...?

I liked this a lot despite being indifferent to the Silver Surfer and putting this on merely because I saw it on Disney+ and was bored.

That's Nova the herald of Galactus, not Nova as in Richard Rider, right?

Yes; in 616 at least she had powers before she met Galactus (apparently Reed Richards also warned her about what being a herald would entail; I didn't remember that).
