I heard that Danny Boyle's daughter recommended Dev Patel after seeing him on Skins.

Transient, I heard the same thing too. I think it was in this interview, which also has another story I loved - that whenever he attends an Indian club or wedding or something like that, and the DJ sees him, they will at some point put on "Jai Ho" and then grin at him expectantly, so he's starting to consider avoiding that situation....

I love this movie so much. From the love story to the trivia questions, to the back and forth timeline to the closing credits to Jai Ho. I love everything about this movie. It hits all of the buttons for me, content-wise and stylistically.

Worth noting that M.I.A., aka Maya Arulpragasam, who contributed to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, is currently having a moment on social media for her right-wing reactionary hot-takes. Despite making a song that absolutely slaps, it's worth pointing out she's always been, "a rich girl moron who wears politics as a fashion accessory."

I love everything about this movie.
I can think of a few scenes I could have done without. But otherwise, yes..
