For a while there I preferred this to Suspiria, but I eventually came to my senses. Nevertheless, the sunken ballroom alone puts Inferno on another level from its peers, like an ur del Toro set piece. Like Suspiria, what feels like random nightmare nonsense resolves into something like sense after multiple watches (or it's made you as crazy as it is by then, I'm not 100% sure).

I have this one on the playlist for my Halloween Day Giallopalooza. I wish I didn’t love the genre so much, since the English or French dubs get harder to find these days, and my eyes aren’t good enough to keep up with subtitles. And I’ve probably left it too late to become fluent in Italian.
