Amy (Jena Malone), Stacy (Laura Ramsey), Jeff (Jonathan Tucker) and Eric (Shawn Ashmore) look for fun during a sunny holiday in Mexico, but they get much more than that after visiting an archaeological dig in the jungle. Carnivorous vines try to ensnare the friends in their tendrils, forcing the group to fight for survival.

I read the book before the film came out. I wanted spooky ancient ruins. I got killer vines (that liked human semen... one of the only details I remember from the book). I was disappointed.

Watched it on a lazy couch day - moderately entertaining, and somewhat visceral.

I saw the movie then read the book. The killer vine stuff is pretty good, though in the book they are even more mind-fucky, in an almost campy slasher kind of way.
