Shark Side of the Moon (2022)

During the Cold War, the USSR developed hyper-aggressive sharks. Unable to kill them, USSR military leaders launched the sharks at the moon. Flash-forward to present day and the first team of American astronauts on the moon in decades must repair a module found on the dark side of the moon, where the astronauts encounter the un-killable Russian moon sharks and endure an epic fight for their lives.

Produced as a Tubi original by notorious schlockhouse The Asylum, who spare every expense.

Look, folks, if you're gonna watch a movie with this title, you know what you're in for.

We really need a schlockhouse like Corman's New World Pictures in the 70s and 80s.

My god. Watched the trailer. Don't think I could bring myself to watch this movie under...any circumstance? I actually watched about 30 minutes of a Sharknado movie a few weeks ago - first time actually seeing any of that franchise - and it was Orson Welles/QT/Scorcese-level compared to Shark Side Of The Moon.

I can say without hyperbole that this is the greatest movie in the history of civilization.

And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the shark side of the moon

If you put on The Lizard of Oz just as the credits start, it synchronizes perfectly.

So…in the sequel, do the moon sharks fight the moon nazis?

You... you made this one up. Or I'm still asleep...

I'm reminded of Tom Cruise's first Jack Reacher movie where a bunch of guys deliberately pick a fight with him in a bar, and so they all go outside to have it out. Right before all hell breaks loose, Reacher goes, "Remember...you wanted this."

I mean... FAIR. But Shark Side of the Moon is also Jurassic Park compared to like Birdemic, so...

I didn't realize there were Tubi originals, so at least I learned something today.
