Crossroads (2002) (2002)

Three childhood best friends, and a guy they just met, take a road trip across the country, finding themselves and their friendship in the process.

Another road trip movie called "Crossroads"! What are the odds? If you enjoy heckling movies, you'll have a great time with this.

Check out Star Trek's Captain Pike as the love interest in the trailer.

I recall watching an extremely delightful Nostalgia Chick video about this one, and I managed to find it on Yahoo of all places. I thought it was very likely to be much more fun than watching the actual movie.

B. Spears, A. Mount, Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, Dan Aykroyd, Kim Cattrall, Justin Long, written by Shonda Rhimes... this seems like it had a fair bit of potential which may not have worked out (full disclosure: I have never seen it). If nothing else, it’s a weird nexus of cast members from three different iterations of Star Trek. Four if we count Galaxy Quest.

That is an interesting observation, ricochet biscuit. Red Dawn (the original) is another heckle-worthy movie that had a lot of future stars in it. I wonder what others we could come up with.

I watched this in first-run as a 41 year-old man, and I read on my website that I found it not nearly as embarrassing as it could have been, hm, so I can recycle some bits here. It bugged me that Lucy (Spears) had the model year of the car that Ben (Mount) drives wrong, and the misidentification was repeated in every review I saw back then (the Buick's bumpers are too dainty for MY1973, and I am vindicated by the Internet Movie Car Database agreeing that it's a MY1972). The product placement I found not too emphatic (Spears was advertising for Pepsi at the time, I suppose) and I wasn't impressed with the movie's understanding of the college admission process.
