[TRAILER] John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) summons chaos theorist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to his home with some startling information -- while nearly everything at his Jurassic Park had been destroyed, his engineers happened to have a second site, where other dinosaurs were kept in hiding. It seems the dinosaurs on the second island are alive and well and even breeding; and Hammond wants Malcolm to observe and document the reptiles before Hammond's financiers can get to them.

I was really close to just putting this in for the blurb:

In the Dinosaurs Eating People franchise, this one has its moments - I am fond of the T-Rex rampage through San Diego - but overall, not a big fan.
Worst moment for me is, after carefully establishing that Julianne Moore's character has extensively studied large predators in the wild and is a renowned expert in the field, they have her sleeping in a tent with open food and a blood soaked shirt while there is a large predator nearby. Hey everyone! Let's make the female scientist incompetent!

I mostly remember a) Pete Postlethwaite and b) the T. Rex drinking from a pool.

I only remember the RV rear window spiderweb cracks spreading. This was not my favorite film of that year by any means.

It's not a great movie but when it came out my now-wife was at exactly the age where having a similarly aged Black girl be a central figure in a big-budget action adventure film (with Jeff Goldblum as her dad!) meant a whole Hell of a lot to her, so I'm willing put more glow on its name than it probably otherwise deserves.

My main memory is the velociraptor attack in the long grass.

This was the closest I came to walking out of a movie.
The dinosaurs were SO amazing! The human story was SO stupid! And so for 2+ hours my nascent longing to watch Prehistoric Planet was tested by some of the most aggressively idiotic nonsense I’ve ever seen on screen.
