[TRAILER] An American nurse (Sarah Michell Gellar) living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.

Not to be confused with the 2018 re-quel, which had the same title.

This actually scared the shit out of me back in the day, and even after going back and seeing the original, I thought he made good use of the extra budget and did some really cinematic stuff here that outdid the original in some areas.

That said, I haven't seen either in 15+ years and am likely to rewatch both with the kiddo soon, so I will report back.

As I recall, this film didn't fair well at the box office. I suspect American audiences didn't like the idea of anyone entering the home, even for an altruistic purpose, was doomed. I have to say though that noise is absolutely haunting.

I forgot that Bill Pullman was in this as well as the rest of the cast. I only remembered Gellar and the shower scene which I think made it into the trailer.

If I recall there is a weird jump scare where the boy's reflection appears in the bus window. Haven't seen the movie in ages, but that stuck with me for scaring the shit out of me for some reason.

The only other thing I remember is the boy crawling around on the ceiling, but I am pretty sure I liked the move.
