I'm fully expecting this seasons cliff hanger to involve sharks with lasers. Just an early prediction, I do love how in the middle of the countdown where they will have 10 seconds to escape the flaming inferno they are manually triggering, Red stops to elucidate one of his meandering analogies.

This is starting to shade into Alias territory of batshit crazy wheels-within-wheels and dimly understood (even by the writers) supertech. Liz is somehow key to the Fulcrum?

I can't stop watching, but nnngh it's getting difficult.

Oh, also, it's nice to see Red not sharing basic information coming back to bite him on the ass.

This episode was rather disjointed. It felt like 90 minutes of episode cut haphazardly down to 45 minutes. I do agree that the show would be better served by jettisoning some of the weird Aliasesque conspiracy supertech lingo. Why do these shows always feel like they have to include that sort of thing? Trust your writers and actors to keep us interested. You don't need all kinds of strange Illuminati cabals and supertech.

Every time I watch this show it's like, "DUDE. JUST SAY SHE'S YOUR DAMN DAUGHTER ALREADY. EVERYBODY KNOWS BY YOUR BEHAVIOR, PAPA BEAR." Especially what with the "now she was there at the Fulcrum" uh, thing.

Nah, she isn't his daughter, way to obvious. She's HIS mother!! Blacklist to the Future !!!

Considering the number of times they've teased this and backed down from it (I believe Red has even specifically denied it in a situation where he would have no reason to), it would be the equivalent of the big scene in The Empire Strikes Back being Darth Vader saying, "Oh, Obi-Wan already told you that I killed your father? Well, yeah... Yeah, I did. I'm evil."

I gave up at the season break, I think. What is this smoke monster Fulcrum thing?

What is this smoke monster Fulcrum thing?

A list/ledger/database of all the really bad shit that the powerful get up to, that would (according to Red) lead to major shakeups among the elites, revolutions, dogs and cats living together, et al.

I'm still crossing my fingers and holding out hope that The Big Twist is superpowers. David Strathairn is going to call in an elite team to take down Reddington... A team of alphas...

Also I have so many conflicted feelings about the whole code thing in this episode. Okay so having a secret master code that gives you complete access to all of the intelligence networks in America that also is only six characters long and can't be revoked is pretty dumb, but uh, Snowden didn't even need a Secret Master Code to hoover up everything so I guess reality is stranger than fiction?

Well, at least they are pulling in good actors for these roles. But Donna Moss, what happened?

So.... call it a blacklist. That sounds fun!

But Donna Moss, what happened?

Have you seen her on Amazon's Alpha House? It's like Donna took a hard shot to the head and started thinking she was the irredeemably stupid version of Ainsley Hayes.

In. A. Prison.

I love this show, but it is a monument to "That can't possibly go wrong."

Also, who the hell put the server room -- which must be kept cold -- next to the BOILER room? Seriously, why not stick, oh, anywhere else in the facility? I been working in IT too long....

Though the rest of the ep was pretty neat.
