Before they can complete renovations on their new inn, a father and daughter are visited by a woman seeking immediate lodging for her strange group of travelers.
After penning Warlock, David Twohy (Pitch Black) wrote this low budget time travel adventure. A father, still grappling with the death of his wife, discovers that the group of "tourists" staying at his inn are actually from the future, but why are they in his small town? Starring Jeff Daniels and Ariana Richards (Jurassic Park).

It's been a number of years since I read the short story, but it was one of my favorite Silver (?) Agers of all time.

Nice post, just started watching it! Found it for rent as The Grand Tour on Amazon.

Ooh, I'm a big admirer of David Twohy's work as a director. (Everyone knows Pitch Black, but I'm also a fan of Below ) I haven't gone looking for things he wrote but didn't direct. This sounds like something I regret missing back in its day.
(Wait, he apparently did direct it. How did I miss this??)

I know this movie as Grand Tour: Disaster in Time, and I accidentally forever-rented a copy of it from Netflix close to 20 years ago. I've made a number of partners, roommates, and friends watch it over the years. I'm pretty fond of it.

This was fun. Very much a low budget thing, and might benefit from being a 65-minute-ish anthology segment if ever remade, but the underlying ideas are great and the execution is fluid and fun.
