School Spirits: School Spirits (all episodes)
May 23, 2023 7:30 AM - Season 1 (Full Season) - Subscribe
Maddie is a high-school sleuth investigating a disappearance at her school. The only problem is: She's dead, and the murder she's investigating is her own. Trailer.
Maddie (Peyton List) is stuck in a sort of purgatory and surrounded by other teens who died at the school over the prior 6 decades, including Charley (Nick Pugliese), a frosted-tip gay kid from the 90s, Wally (Milo Manheim), a football jock from the 80s, and Rhonda (Sarah Yarkin), a poet from the 60s. Maddie's investigation is assisted by both her dead friends and her living friends Simon (Kristian Flores) and Nicole (Kiara Pichardo). Twists and turns abound! Everyone is a suspect!

I watched this and kept forgetting to add it to FanFare. The last twist really opened up the universe, but I wonder how well they'll be able to continue without breaking the rules they've already set.

I think they may be able to get around that with the idea that nobody really knows what the rules are other than what they've been told, and what they've been told could very well be a lie. [Keeping it deliberately vague to be spoiler-free.]

One rule we've seen to be true, though, is that Maddie can't leave the school. Unless they do some hand-wavy "Oh, but now that you have a good reason..." bullshit.

Yeah, I agree with that. They will have to figure out a way to place the majority of the action in and around the school. Still plenty to resolve there.

It was great! I felt bad for the marching band.

Miss-lapin, apparently there is a code related to the 30th anniversary of the last episode of cheers that allows you to get a free month instead of a free week with sign up (still have to remember to cancel): CHEERSATX
Here is the article where I saw this: https://www.cnet.com/deals/score-1-month-of-paramount-plus-for-free-with-this-code/
That should be enough time to get through the first season.

"Since when did you stop majoring in who gives a fuck?"
OK I am enjoying this enormously. Thank you eckeric.

We watched with our own high schooler, and it was a great way to bond as a family. Highly recommended.
