I don't usually watch the Tony awards, but I do love Ariana DeBose and I assume there'll be lots of pro-WGA chatter.

Aww, I was rooting for Matthew López and Amber Ruffin for best book, but it is impossible not to be happy for everyone who wins a Tony.

I’m enjoying this! Lots of great performances and joyful award-winners. Sweeney Todd looks fairly awesome in my opinion.

Wait, Aaron Rodgers is in the audience? Huh.

I thought I saw Aaron Rodgers!

I was worried they'd be lost without a script but I thought it made the show mostly better than usual - more musical numbers, more time for the winners to talk. The main thing I missed was the stats on winners as they'd come up ("This is her X nomination and X win").

I watched all 4.5 hours and I didn't see any winners who skipped out in solidarity with strikers.

Seemed like everyone was having more fun than usual, there were more and longer performances. I do think they should have added a bit more time for the glib presenters like Nathan Lane to ad lib. This was not a broadway theater, the tech gymnastics backstage must have been the truly incredible performance.

Former stage manager in off-off-Broadway here to confirm you're probably right, and to thank you for thinking of this.

Unfortunately, I doubt the people who called him that back in the day are going to be all that impressed that he's got a Tony. But good on him. I saw his revival of Spring Awakening back when it toured, and it was a damn fine show.
