20,000 Species of Bees (2023)

An eight-year-old child struggles with the fact that people keep addressing her in confusing ways. During a summer at her grand aunt’s among the beehives, her life and her mother’s will change forever.

An intergenerational exploration of identity, femininity and social & economic roles with outstanding performances especially for Berlin International Film Festival Silver Bear-winning child actor Sofia Otero.

The least alienating movie tackling Trans topics I've seen so far (not so many I guess). It felt less like actors acting and more like a documentary about a real family. And Sofia Otero was great.

I wish I could say I loved it, but it was also a bit boring right up to the end. Which is preferable to forced conflict and all that, but still.

I liked it.
