The vampires help Sean host a Pride parade; Nadja helps her doll achieve a long-held dream.

Guillermo and Laszlo explore Guillermo's vampirism, revealing a pair of upsetting wings. Laszlo even gets a day at the beach out of it, despite paying for it with a hell of a sunburn. Meanwhile, Nandor explores new heights of his own because he's not speaking to his new bird friend, Matthew.

The Hulu shop really missed a trick by not already having "YAS SEAN" and "AY, I'M BEIN' GAY OVER HERE!" t-shirts ready to go.

Seriously. I would have immediately purchased a "AY, I'M BEIN' GAY OVER HERE!" shirt.

I enjoy Laszlo and Guillermo's scientific inquiry into the current state of his vampirism. And Laszlo's day at the beach outfit.

A very scientific episode overall, what with Nandor's jealousy driving him to explore outer space and the rest of the cast testing out the bounds of Freaky Friday. Scientific progress goes boink.

Guillermo sitting quietly on the float with his "gay guy" sign and lil sparkler, slowly getting into the festivities, hee.

This episode is one of my new favorites. The beach day, the Freaky Friday spirit swap, Sean's comptroller run and Pride parade, all leading up to an absolutely bonkers, hilarious final 5ish minutes. This is the hardest I've laughed at TV in a long, long time.

I was so angry at how completely they caught me off my guard with the Freaky Friday joke

This is a show that can make me laugh at updog and “superb owl” though so in fairness they are godlike masters of their craft

Is it just me or is this show getting hilariously sleazier and smuttier by the episode?

Oh, this was SO GOOD.

Speaking of merchandise, I purchased myself a Nadja Funko Pop (I know, I know, you hate those hideous plastic landfill-fillers, I have a complicated relationship with them. I *try* to not buy them except in cases of extreme fandom. Well, this is one of those cases.) and it is all I can do not to buy a Laszlo to go with her. I wish she came with a tiny Nadja, but alas, she does not.

suddenly realizing that of COURSE Guillermo is going to be a daywalker, because it will allow the status quo to continue with him as the house's gofer

I felt like the show kind of dismissed the possibility of Guillermo being a daywalker in this episode. Those pitiful little winglets on his back don't seem like typical vampire gear, so I don't know what the heck he's becoming. I have a hunch that his Van Helsing blood is fighting off the transformation, and in the end Nandor won't have to kill him because the turning won't take.

It's funny that Guillermo's sticking around as Nandor's familiar now, even when he's no longer waiting for Nandor to turn him. By staying Guillermo is actually endangering himself and Nandor, but these two just can't quit each other.

Laszlo banging a Nadja-fied Colin Robinson may go down as one of the most shocking moments in the series. Last season the show really sold the idea that Colin had become Laszlo's surrogate child, so seeing them going at it like that was some nasty stuff. People do seem to develop a whole other morality when they become vampires. They don't just become killers, they also get into incredibly dark, twisted sex stuff. Their idea of fun (when they're not hunting humans) is watching a clown suck himself off. Nadja was an old-fashioned village girl who died a virgin, and now she does stuff like... this.

I mean, vampirism aside, it must just be tremendously boring to live for hundreds of years and (Laszlo's beach trip aside) never go out in the daytime. So eventually one would have to resort to some nastiness just to pass the time.

This episode was so great except for that part which was just too far for me.

Nandor in space!!! (Except why not just fly down and also why the reentry burn?)
Real body person!
Laszlo on the beach catching a fish!

I guess all the vampires had big first experiences this episode.

I received a "YAS SEAN" shirt after attending the ComicCon screening of this episode (and the next). The other shirt option was a beige "I'm Fallin For Colin" shirt. So the shirts exist, maybe they will make it to the store.

I dunno, they haven't yet surpassed the Vampire Orgy episode -- "Guillermo, this party's AWESOME!"
