The Righteous Gemstones: Burn For Burn, Wound For Wound, Stripe For Stripe

Peter makes a power play. May-May makes a choice. Gideon makes a mess.
I’ve never heard “All the Gold in California” before, and I didn’t know Sturgil Simpson, but that was a super cool moment. And I’ve been listening to the Gatlin brothers version for the past day.
Part of me thinks that Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers is going to be a runaway hit if it ever reaches air.
May-May could throat punch Jesse’s middle son, and I’d be fine with it.

Fine with it, hell, I'd pony up for it on pay-per-view.

I don't feel good about how much I enjoyed watching Judy get punched in the throat, but, wow, yeah that's one thing May-May brings to the table.
I agree that Baby Billy's gameshow sounds like it would be a rousing success. And -- unlike monster trucks and holograms of Eli's dead wife -- still in the bounds of a megachurch's approximation of good taste. I assume they're just dismissing Baby Billy because they don't like him and don't want to spend more time enabling his monstrous narcissism, which is notable even by the standards of the Gemstone family. (I absolutely died laughing when Baby Billy entered the house, carelessly sending his stroller-locked child whizzing away from everyone else.)

I'm just glad Gideon got to drive the monster truck.

The thing that absolutely killed me this week is when BJ says "that's right, Daddy!" and Eli looks at him like "what the fuck did you just say, boy?"
I believe this episode MIGHT be the first time we've ever heard Eli cuss before -- not sure, but I know him saying "fuck" this episode was one highly unexpected expletive amongst the panoply of Gemstones.
