All of the characters in this book survive difficult upbringings (with some references to child abuse) but in the end they are all OK, even the ghosts.

I like books about friends, and this is a book about friends.

Really want to read this, but can't justify £15 for it at the moment.

I've been a bit put off it now by your quote from First Frost in the other thread. That completely passed me by when I read it years ago.
