If tonight's episode of Collision seems a bit heavy on the promos, it's because Tony has AEW Grand Slam in two weeks and is down one Zaslav-approved headliner. Not to worry, he's going to fill the gap with tournament semi-finals, title defenses and a quartet of luchadors!

Kris Statlander makes short work of the Renegade Sisters, who I guess are the women AEW goes to when you need jobbers but can't get local talent. And because babyfaces aren't allowed to have friends, she's alone when the sisters bring the post-match castigo. Jade Cargill makes her dramatic return to save Kris and also plant her face-first into the ring.

I'm not really into the idea of Statlander having a rematch with Cargill so quickly, even though the title changed hands over 100 days ago it still seems too soon.

I think Darby's learned an important lesson about skateboard safety tonight, specifically to never do it anywhere near an angry dinosaur. Although to be honest, I'm not really affected by seeing Darby take a bump or two off of concrete and metal, considering I've already seen him get tossed down stairs and get hit by hammers and still kick out of clinical death.

I also appreciated how he released the chokehold immediately when the bell rang. He's heelish, but he's also a competitor in a sport who has no reason to injure a fellow competitor.
