I thought it was...fine, if a little uneventful for a first episode. I love Emma Roberts, but she's at her best when she's allowed to be funny, and I can't help but feel she's slightly wasted on naif roles like these (see also 1984). She's also, it seems to me, kind of young for encroaching middle age to loom seriously as a spectre over Anna's life, but maybe that's sly commentary on the ageism of Hollywood (he said charitably).
