Special Event: Awesome Games Done Quick 2024

The charity video game speed running marathon is live in Pittsburgh, USA, and live on twitch! It's the Winter Olympics of video games: Watch adorable nerd communities come together to show off delightfully niche skills, and raise a million or so dollars for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Runs Sunday 14th to Saturday 20th January.

Oh nice, they're going to do Viewfinder. I've watched a (former?) WR run of that before, but could really do with some commentary to know what's going on.

Watched Bobbeigh run Bloodstained and I’m really impressed with how he can be such a fun, engaging speaker while setting a new world record for that game.

Twitch killed the Roku app so I really wish GDQ would stream to Youtube so I could put the event on my TV.

Ah, that's annoying! They're putting the VODs up on YouTube really quickly though - about two hours after the run finishes, which is pretty impressive

Yeah in previous years it's sometimes been up to a couple of days and I've been impressed with how quickly they've been turning the videos around this year.

The Metroid Dread 2p race was so darn close. They routed in different ways totally separate the whole run only to line up at the very end. I think it was a 2-second difference at the end?
