Everyone wants to save the world.
Maximus confesses his true identity to Thaddeus; disgusted, Thaddeus disables his power armor and leaves with Wilzig's head and CX404. Lucy finds Maximus and they agree to work together to retrieve the head. The pair stumble upon the ruins of Shady Sands, a once thriving post-war city, and Maximus' former home, in their pursuit. Maximus is injured by a Fiend, and while searching for medical supplies in an abandoned Vault-Tec building, the two accidentally fall into Vault 4. Back in Vault 33, council president Betty Johnson is elected as overseer. Norm hacks Vault 32's central computer and finds that Vault 31 has provided the overseers (including his father) for 32 and 33 since the day the bombs fell. Betty orders that Vault 32 be repopulated by 33 once cleaned of the deceased dwellers.

I don't quite get the architecture of Shady Sands now vs how I remember it in the first game, but it's also a gigantic hole in the ground. Guess this gives some clue as to how the Courier solved problems on the Strip, maybe?
Seeing the Overseer's office and desk as a real live set is kinda weirding me out a bit. I keep wanting the characters to move over and figure out the escape tunnel underneath. It's right there!!

I'm questioning the whole raiders kidnap Overseer MacLean thing now. Maybe that's just a way for him to get back to Vault 33 or wherever he came from so that the next Overseer could take over and they can continue whatever they're doing with Vaults 31 and 32. Also how that scientist from the Enclave knew all about who Lucy was. It's pretty sus.
