We seemed to have a decent conversation going last season, and it slipped my attention that the second season had started, so here's your heads up - it's already almost halfway over.

I only watched the first two episodes so far, but it certainly seems like the writers have kind of figured out how to make the jokes land better? I dunno, last season it felt like we were on the outside of the joke, looking in, while this season feels more like we're there with the characters, laughing at the situations they're in.

For what it's worth halfway through the 2nd season, I'm enjoying this season a lot more than I enjoyed the first. The first one was fine? But it also sort of expected that I cared more about these brand new characters than was probably reasonable. I'm not sure if the writing is better this season than last or if the situation has settled down enough that the jokes can land without them feeling uncertain, but there's some actual character growth and progress on the Morpho machine. Sort of.

I tried real hard, y'all, but the truth is I hated Dusty this season and him being the main character of this season just made me sad. Also, honestly showrunners, when a white man is married to a Black woman but decides to get with a very blonde very white woman instead, that is such a racist cliche bad look. I'm glad to see it got cancelled.
