The worst of these I have seen so far. It's overly lit, presumably to allow for the 3D conversion that it had going to theaters. It looks like a frigging WB show. Sean Patrick Flanery doesn't help, as his whole vibe is SyFy original or direct-to-video.

I was really ready to be rid of Hoffman, but here he is again.

The fishhook/scream meter kill was brutal.

I fast-forwarded through chunks of this because it is boring. The new cop character suuuuuucks.

I think this movie intended to have some thematic stuff going on about how John's ideas are just psychopathy in ostensibly lesser hands. And the survivors group where the woman from the previous group tightly insists that these games don't teach shit was kinda cool. But the execution is just so lacking.

It's wild that this guy made Saw X, because that one is so much better all around.

I should say that, a bit like VI, this gains about a half star if you are impressed by the twist ending.

Also... Jigsaw's look when he goes to the book signing (hoodie, backwards baseball cap) is giving real Music Band/"How do you do, my fellow kids?" vibes.
