Horror Movie Challenge Homebrew: October 2024

After a few years playing along with a podcast's October horror challenge, we decided to homebrew our own with (mainly) our horror-loving niece contributing themes as well.
Here's our October theme list if anyone wants to play along!
It's not a list of movies, but themes (ranging from pretty loose to very tight) and you find movies you want to watch to fill in the blanks. Then... a movie a night in October! It's a lot!

We're about 10 movies planned, the rest yet to figure out. And yes, some of the themes are pretty vibey and loose, others are fairly tight.
The point isn't to watch what we're watching, but so far...
Final Girl: Happy Death Day (just watched it)
Into the Wilderness: The Watchers
Food Fight: The Stuff
Costumed Creeps: The Banana Splits Movie
Animals: Night of the Lepus
Clown Town: Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Dolls, Living or Otherwise: Oddity
This Actor is Too Good...: We're going to do a MeTa about this!
Fancy Draculas: Salem's Lot (2024)
Scary Books: Necronomicon (1993)
Silent Movie: Hexan
The Sequel: Nightmare on Elm Street 2
Giant Monster: Tremors
...and we'll figure the rest out a bit later!

This sounds fun. I've been doing that 100 Horror Films in the 100 Days Leading Up to Halloween thing. Initially, I was going to count rewatches, but with 29 1/2 days left and with me being at 81 already, and only 13 of those being rewatches, I think I can get there with all first-time views.

I'd also add The Poughkeepsie Tapes into the mix. Scariest film I've ever seen.

I've now hit my 100 horror films (in the 100 days leading up to Halloween) but only 85 are first time watches. I have time for another 15 before Halloween, feels like, so I may as well.

DOT, what would you rec for Shepherd and I's October 18th theme: Meh Movie but Great Soundtrack?
I can think of more non-horror movies that would fit this bill, so I'm coming up a lil snake eyes.

In comparison, I'm doing the Letterboxd event, Hooptober. 31 films plus bonus ones based on some specific and broad themes. I did it last year and it was pretty fun.
