Jacques Tourneur also directed Out of the Past, Cat People, and Night of the Demon / Curse of the Demon (obvious inspiration for Drag Me To Hell) but--even though "terrors" is in the title--I can't bring myself to tag this "horror." It's a face through and through.

It was written by Richard Matheson and Elsie Lee; I'm not familiar with Lee's work but Matheson wrote Stir of Echoes, The Incredible Shrinking Man, What Dreams May Come, and I Am Legend (also made as The Last Man on Earth and The Omega Man).

My partner and I watched this last night and both really enjoyed it (though he was quicker to warm to it than I was; I felt like it took maybe 20 minutes to get going).
