After months of watching that stupid trailer, my expectations were very low. The actual film being watchable cheese cleared that low bar easily. Not at all good, but not Night Swim or Imaginary either. Maybe it's just a matter of better stars slumming it here or the director being competent, even if the script he wrote is weak.

Slick, stupid, forgettable, but still kind of enjoyable trash from the Blumhouse assembly line. It doesn't have the wit and sense of humor that M3gan had to confidently get away with this level of cheese.

One thing that cannot be undersold on this, though:
DAVID DASTMALCHIAN

Bonus half star for DD alone.

Blumhouse needs to rethink their production strategy.
