Even if she blames the deaths on Maronis it doesn't seem like she'd become the Falcone leader. They don't seem to allow or want female leaders (in the flashback Carmine said he'd make them accept her). If she's not the new leader the resulting chaos may even be good for Oz.

I think that's why she left Johnny Vitti alive. He will be the new family head but she will run the show.

The gaslighting and abuse in the asylum was revolting. I could see how that can make one pathologically cynical and plotting, when there were no pathologies in the first place.

But shit like that happened and that's why this is so horrifying for me.
