If you're interested in the history of the Battle of Stalingrad, the podcast Professor Buzzkill recently had a two part episode that's worth a listen: Part 1, Part 2.

This film got points for bringing us a WW2 film that wasn't American centric and it's got a pretty wonderful cast. It's been a long time since I saw the film (granted, I own a copy - so I liked it enough!), but it was one of those movies that you can feel could be better. A lot better.

I loved this when I was a kid. I haven't revisited it in a long time, so curious how it holds up, but I have a real fondness for it.

It holds up better than I expected it would; I gave it a spin not too long ago.

I remember turning to my buddy from high school in the theater and saying “sniper sex is really quiet.”
