Having just helplessly binged the whole series, I will spoil nothing but will happily retract the last two words of my judgment above.
This is so, so, so good.

Very good so far.
Was hard seltzer a thing in the 90s? Or is this show in the 90s at all? It certainly has a 90s crime show vibe, especially the "gang war" fight scene. And some 90s phones and TVs.
It's more surreal than I was expecting from the description and I approve. The cop show they watch is the same as the one they encounter characters from, and even the fighting video game seemed to have characters fighting in front of the same restaurant.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who instantly thought of Babylon 5...

I'd heard this was good and did some bold things with storytelling. So I fired up the first episode. And then like 10 minutes in I said "OH! It's Rosenkrantz & Guildenstern & Law & Order!" Definitely hooked after the first episode and looking forward to more.
I'm trying to figure out if them sneaking a Wilhem Scream into the fight scene is extra-meta because of the nature of the show.
