I wanted to watch something campy, and this came up amongst the campy listings on Netflix.

Had no idea that there was a "campy" tag on Netflix; must investigate. I saw this back in the day and it was cheesy but fun. Just found out that "Rhythm of the Night", the big break-out single from the soundtrack, was written by Diane Warren, and am not the least little bit surprised.

i saw this at an all nighter event in London, going in blind.
I love it so much, it is one of my favourite movies, camp and endlessly quotable.

For the longest time I thought the villain had fried eggs on his outfit.

I think I’d understand this better if I’d ever watched any kung fu movies (unrelated to the fried eggs - as far as I know).

The Kew Gardens insults.

Eddie Arcadian: Where are you gonna go, Angie? Without me, you're nothing! Without that outfit, you're just another no-talent dental hygiene school drop-out from Kew Gardens getting by on her tits!
Angela Viracco: And in the end, Eddie, you know what? You're nothing but a misguided ***** asshole with dreams of ruling the world. Yeah, also from Kew Gardens. And also getting by on my tits.

Julius Carry (Sho'nuff) also had a memorable role as Lord Bowler on the short-lived The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. with Bruce Campbell.

Carry's performance is excellent. The Last Dragon is fun, and memorable more for its villain than its hero.

I also love everything about this movie.

Every time I grab hold of our dog so my my wife can put his harness on him, I say, “I got him, Sho. I got him!”
