Beyoncé performed material from Cowboy Carter for the first time live at halftime on NFL Christmas Gameday from Houston, Texas (review, review). Now streaming on Netflix.

My only complaint about the show comes from my own ignorance: I wanted some on-screen identification for the three women who sang at the end of "Blackbird" with Beyonce. Other than that, I loved how big it was. Not a stage in the middle of the field, but a whole venue performance. Loved the return of marching bands and Beyonce. Impressive that Shaboozey and Post Malone turned up for their verses too.

I watched it once on YouTube, but the sound was horrible in that version. Watched it a second time from this Netflix link, and the sound was much better. Plus, I noticed that one of the cars has a skeleton sitting in it for some reason. Weird comparison, but I loved this like I loved the Paris Olympic opening ceremonies. Take up all the space!

(The women are Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts. They're all country singer/songwriters, and they also perform on the album version.)

Loved this so much. Some good historical and cultural context about the imagery and symbolism used in the production via Diet Prada here.

Thank you for the Diet Prada post stellaluna, great to see the background. I thought it was fantastic, a perfect showcase for the amazing new album.
