Abbott Elementary: The Science Fair

Mr. Morton ANNOYS THE HELL OUT OF EVERYBODY.
"Someone needs to do something about this nasty-ass school," says PRINCIPAL Coleman. Ava suddenly gets interested in science when both her inner disaster prepper and "my dad abandoned me for another family" issues get triggered (thanks, Gregory, and your trip to the barber shop).
Mr. Morton's Lady Issues go beyond his ex-wife, apparently. Lady pilots? Also, he has High Standards for a grade school science fair.
"It looks like you poured Kool-Aid on your flowers."
"How does this benefit society?"
"It looks pretty?"
"Our obsession with beauty is absolutely hurting society."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I RELATE TO THIS.
"Unfortunately no project satisfied the judge's differentiating standards."
DUDE, WHEN NOBODY WINS THE FAIR, THERE WILL BE AN UPRISING. "We'll judge ourselves and pick our OWN winner!"
"This is what I do. I turn great things and turn them into bad things." True, Mr. Morton.
Wait, what, we're your new best friends now?!
(P.S. Anyone can start a new episode thread if they like, I'm playing catchup on TV this weekend, but sometimes I'm busy.)

I wouldn't say he annoys me. But he's like the Newman of Abbot. He may have his redemptive moment here or there, but every time he shows up it's connected to him saying something awful or doing something awful. Like Newman, I can take him in limited doses.

He annoys the fuck out of me based just on this episode because way to just destroy a child's interest in and love of science.
Why, yes, I did have a Mr. Morton-type teacher in my past, how did you know?

That was my 10th grade art teacher. Crushed my artistic aspirations with pinpoint accuracy.

This. He sucks as a teacher - I thought they were going to get to a science-esque conclusion at the end, but he sidestepped it.
