Xavier and Robinson execute their plans as Sinatra strives to maintain Paradise's current state.
"don't carry weapons openly, we don't want to panic the crowd"
My dude, you are in full battle dress. I mean, sure, there's a distinction between "I am armed" and "I am moving through a crowd with weapons drawn", but no one down here has seen a gun in three and a half years, it's going to be weird.
I'm wondering—you've got a deademperor president, a wealthy landowner pulling the strings behind the scenes, and a praetorian guard secret service agent leading a rebellion in a city full of refugees from a fallen civilization. Is there a historical analog here that I'm not aware of? Something after the fall of Rome, but unconnected to Byzantium?

Anyway, now that it's not the evening - knowing that Xavier's wife went to Atlanta despite some rather strong "yeah this isn't the time for that", I dunno.. Kind of puts some shade on Xavier's feelings towards Cal? I mean, it's an impossible situation either way. "I don't have specifics, but I'm hearing that maybe you don't want to get too far out of my sight for the foreseeable future" would probably send most people's spouses running for the hills?
And so Presley just found the tablet in the bushes when she went over to play mario kart with Agent Billy? Uh-huh. And then she walked off with Agent Holly Hobbie after she and Cal Jr. unlocked it and discovered the Truth. Good job, Presley.
I was sort of amused by the Die Hard parallels, though. Ho-ho-ho.
Also also, as an operations guy? That your 100% uptime ceiling process doesn't have any mechanism for being cycled with low impact is, uh, poor foresight. Make it so you have two controllers controlling a checkerboard, slowly dim the both of them and then drop out one while bringing the other one to full brightness so it isn't as apparent. Or maybe they would always have to do any maintenance to the system at night? But "we've never done this" after 3 years stretches _my_ credulity. *pushes glasses up nose, sniffs*

Well, that escalated quickly.
At least there were a few more words in the sky. I think they still left off POTUS WAS MURDERED though. But I guess if the real goal was to distract Sinatra then mission accomplished.
10, 9, 8... I did love how the crowd started counting down out loud. I think no matter what the circumstance, if a crowd of people sees a countdown, they're going to start yelling numbers.
"Keep the guns concealed unless absolutely necessary" [puts on full battle armor] was hilarious.
The cute "Ho ho ho" note that Xavier left turned out to be a giant clue that got the Doctor to save Sinatra from being trapped with the others.
I have to say the storytelling was pretty good. Having Xavier walk the president through the emergency protocol of getting everyone to the bunker was a good flashback to explain the end-of-the-world situation with Xavier's wife, but it also ended up meaning Xavier was exploiting those same protocols with Sinatra's people.
I do feel like not telling his wife "The President just told me the end of the world is happening soon" is kind of Xavier's fault.
Oh, and anyone who calls a fully qualified member of the US President's Secret Service detail "Holly Hobbie with a gun" deserves anything she's going to dish out...

Yes! Why did they write that part that way? "No thanks, I'm gonna hang with Pres Jr because I like him and barely know you". And then have Holly Hobbie kidnap her. That would have been interesting. Instead we get, "Sure let's go hang. I'm not in the middle of anything important or life changing". And her dad didn't tell her Uncle Billy died under questionable circumstances, and she might not be trustworthy? She's not Aunt Holly Hobbie!!!
I swear everyone in here is the B-Ark, or this is the beginning of Idiocracy.

The one thing in this bunker that doesn't have location tracking turned on is The Most Important iPad In The World? Right.
