Rome: 'An Owl in a Thronebush'

"With Caesar quickly advancing toward Rome, Pompey begins ordering a retreat and forces his citizens to pick sides. Timon is forced to do Atti's dirty work. While on a scouting Mission some 30 miles from Rome, Vorenus cannot understand why no one is resisting seizures military advances." (from DVD header)

who is the owl and what is the thornbush. Pompey?
Octavian? Cato? Rome, Gold, and romance?.

absolutely love Ray Stevenson. Pullo finds the gold and covers himself in a cloak as Caesar approaches and the one shot, as Caesar glances at the ox cart moving away, that shot was perfect and also Hinds reaction. Caesar is riding point, why didn't he have the wagon stopped and searched.
in the first three episodes I find gold to be a recurring theme that tends to end in disaster.
there are a few exceptions as when Pullo tosses the gold coins to twart Quintus and the "Neptune Scurge".

"Then you must kill me. And then you'll need to kill yourself. Your survival would be... inappropriate."

Hilarious scene with everyone bickering about who kills whom if they are about to be captured alive.
