Four interconnected stories set in 1987 Oakland, CA. will tell about the love of music, movies, people, places and memories beyond our knowable universe.
Went to see this last week at the Grand Lake Theatre (Oakland's Historic Movie Palace also shows up in this film). Not a perfect flick by any means- it's a homage to genre films that doesn't take itself the least bit seriously. Tremendous fun to see in a crowded theater with other people who get a cathartic joy from seeing screen nazis beaten and sliced up by 1) Gilman punks 2) Sleepy Floyd of the Golden State Warriors. A scrappy underdog flick filled with Oakland easter eggs, great tunes, and starring Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Max Carpenter and Angus Cloud. In theaters now!
