A chronicle of the production problems—including bad weather, actors' health, war near the filming locations, and more—which plagued the filming of Apocalypse Now, increasing costs and nearly destroying the life and career of Francis Ford Coppola.

This documentary was arguably even more harrowing than Apocalypse Now.

Makes an excellent bookend with Burden of Dreams, by Les Blank, about the filming of Werner Herzogs' Fitzcarraldo.

It wasn't inherent genius that kept this film from being another Heaven's Gate. It was mostly luck.

And 'redux' has never been, and will never be, a real word.
