Adventure Time: Jermaine

Finn and Jake pay a visit to their brother Jermaine.
I'm really curious what the treasures actually were. One of the demons mentions "DAT tapes." What could be on them I wonder?
It's interesting that in the end Jermaine finally realizes it's pointless and futile to guard the stuff and just says, "Let it burn."

I liked the theme of the kid having to carry out the punishment for the father's crimes, and then deciding not to. It seems like Joshua spent a lot of time pissing off demons and stealing their stuff, leaving Jake and Jermaine to clean up the mess. Remember that other episode with the demon blood? At some point everyone who lionizes their dad has to realize that just because he's your dad doesn't mean he was a hero; it might just mean he spent a lot of time pissing off demons for no great reason.

That house was so cool, though. The chakra rug?? The seemingly stocked kitchen that somehow doesn't have normal salt? All the doodads and whatnots? I want diagrams of all of them. Oh well. It's gone now.

Mizu: "The chakra rug??"
I'm pretty sure it was a Sephirot rug.

Please excuse my arcane ignorance, I was distracted by the creepy singing bear.

That Sephirot rug reveals that the demon wasn't looking for his DAT tapes. He was looking for his Da'at tapes.

late to the party but loved with an irrationally big love that they cast Jon Wurster to play the taunting demon to Tom Scharpling's Jermaine, and didn't hesitate to load up on the Best Show in-jokes.
