Murder, She Wrote: It Runs in the Family Rewatch
May 19, 2015 7:32 AM - Season 4, Episode 6 - Subscribe
Tonight on Murder, She Wrote, JB is nowhere to be seen (except in a cameo on a book cover)! But don't worry, Jessica's British cousin, Emma MacGill, is on the scene, as a love interest, a suspect, and a budding detective in assistance to Inspector Frost, who is looking for the truth behind some suspicious goings-on. Emma is invited to the estate of Geoffrey Constable, an old friend of hers and currently the 18th Viscount Blackraven. But Geoffrey is in bad shape, taking his last days to make amends for lost years, in ways that ruffle the feathers of his prim and proper family, who are all eying his estate, and his title.
Mark Lindsay Chapman appears here for the first time as Johnny Constable, a good lad with "a gamy side," and he'll return as three different characters in the coming seasons.
John David Bland makes his first of two M,SW appearances, here as the spoiled young Derek Constable.
Sir John Standing will also return once again, here playing Arthur Constable, brother to Geoffrey.

Did you catch the first appearance of Emma, when JB was in the episode as a fun comparison of Angela Lansbury's presentation of the rather different characters? That was in Sing a Song of Murder (S02E05).

Yes! Loved it so much. Emma was so different than Jessica, but still lovable. I am a M, SW fan and have seen them all many, many times. The show to watch with a cup of tea and a warm blanket...

I love Emma so much! But I was also so excited to see Jane Leeves. I like to think of this as part of Daphne Moon's past.
