Babylon 5

Is anyone interested in a series of Babylon 5 posts? It's years since I've seen it, and re-watching it with MeFites could be a lot of fun.
Here in the UK, it looks like the only legal way to watch is to get hold of the DVDs, as none of Netflix, Amazon prime, or Google Play have it. That's fine for me -- I've been teetering on the brink of buying the box set for ages -- but perhaps it'd be too big a hurdle to make it work on FanFare. Is it easily available to watch elsewhere (US, etc?).
I'd vote for a rewatch, starting at S01E01 and ploughing through at a couple of episodes a week. I know a lot of people don't love the first season, though, so there's always scope for taking the world-building as a given and diving into season 2.
I remember seeing discussion about the pros and cons of listing old series on FanFare, but can't remember the outcome. But given that Buffy, Angel and Farscape are ongoing, I guess there's a least some room for them?

Hmm, this doesn't seem likely to be the roaring success I was hoping for! Probably it's some combination of too old and too niche to get momentum. This despite it being, in my somewhat hazy memories of watching it as a teen, the Best Programme Ever.
hobgadling, if you feel especially motivated to try some B5 posts I'll watch along but, given that both of my previous submissions to FanFare sank without trace and only two of us seem interested in this one, I think I'll leave it for now. Don't want to clutter up the place too much with shows that no-one else wants to talk about.

I would be up for watching B5 when it show up on a streaming service.

I think I have fonder memories of The Lurker's Guide than I do the show itself. I'm kinda interested in a watch but I am unsure I can stand watching S1.
I tried to ask this person if we should rewatch but he said nobody would listen to him anyway.

I'm in drezdn's boat, if it ain't streaming then I really don't have easy enough access to it. I started the first season but didn't finish it for a variety of reasons, so at some point, I definitely would want to try again.

Between my sputtering Fringe posts, the just-started Farscape run, and the lively DS9 rewatches, I'm tapped out on SF right now.

I would be theoretically interested, but the Buffy and DS9 rewatches have are using up all of my TV rewatch/discussion time at the moment.

I feel in my heart that one day, B5 will be available on streaming again. And when that happens, I feel like celebrating the return would be a perfect reason to start a Fanfare rewatch.
Until that happens though, I personally wouldn't be participating. I don't own the DVDs, and likely never will (I don't buy physical media that is not blu-ray anymore).

I really, really want to rewatch this show but I can't justify spending $100+ to do it. It's a shame it was taken down from Netflix.

I'm coming in here kind of late, but FWIW, I think I'd really enjoy a rewatch should streaming availability happen. Parts of S1 are brutal, but I think worth it.
(Also, I do have the entire thing on VHS from the TNT run, but...)

Here really late... I have the DVDs + other version (damn it I bought the DVDs I'm allowed to own it on a modern format), plus probably got a box of VHS tapes of it in my parents basement :) I'm all in if a rematch starts, probably best to wait till it's available on streaming though so we can hook new people on it. It's dated compared to what we have on TV now but it was years ahead when it aired!
