Holy crap, ALL THE PLOT just happened. Dang.

I assume that in addition to the developments in zombieland, we're going to be seeing more of that commune-thing that turned the victim into a "pod person."

Also, nice to see you again, Enrico Colantoni! And in a law-enforcement job, no less.

Maaan this episode had me on the edge of my... couch!

SO MANY THINGS, I don't even know where to begin! So I'm just gonna say that I really hope that girl doesn't just get away with murder.

"Hey, look, it's Abigail Hobbs!!"

Kacey Rohl is all over my television lately. This, The Magicians, The X-Files.

"Also, nice to see you again, Enrico Colantoni!"

He's great and I love him in everything. He was so good on Person of Interest. And of course I just loved him in Veronica Mars. It took me a long time into watching VM before I realized he was the main alien in Galaxy Quest. He's a very good actor and I think he should get more and bigger roles.

In this, however, the character was kind of broad and off-key. I wonder if that was intentional.

"So I'm just gonna say that I really hope that girl doesn't just get away with murder."

That felt like an unfinished story, didn't it? And I think HZSF may be onto something with the suspicion that we'll see more of that retreat/seminar/commune/whatever that turned the victim into a "pod person".

I totally didn't see the immortality (?) thing coming for the ex-zombies. I don't know what that means. But it seems like something that Blaine would be pretty happy about.

I got the sense he was already sliding into zombism before Boss showed up--hence Blaine asking Candy to open bottle after bottle of wine.

I think the cult thing is going to be a plot thread (probably in S3?) but I suspect that the daughter is gone. On a episode where nothing seems to go right for our heroes (and very charismatic villain), it's only natural that the case of the week wouldn't be a winner for Clive and Liv either.

Yeah, he couldn't taste the wine properly but didn't want to admit to himself that what it needed was a ton of hot sauce.

Plus, the thing where he zombified Candy via sex.

"Plus, the thing where he zombified Candy via sex."

I didn't realize she wasn't already a zombie.

I honestly couldn't have told you whether she was or not based on my memory of past episodes, but Blaine wouldn't have willingly re-infected himself by having sex with a zombie.

I think Candy was made up to look like a zombie in an earlier episode but I don't remember the details.

Liv's line about Ravi being the best was taken from an A.V. Club commenters weekly "Ravi is the best" comment series where they highlight one thing Ravi said/did in the episode.

Heh. If it really was inspired by that, that's cool. I had to convince myself that last week's conversation between Clive and Ravi about how Clive has noticed that Liv picks up these personality traits and he "tries to just go with it" wasn't in response to my frequent ranting about this last season. It felt like a little gift from the writers to me.

Best dirt nap visual ever.

"Very airy, Gerry Derryberry" is the best line of the week, hands down.

Jesus the references to racism by police are cringeworthy. It's not that I mind thinking about it, but the one person who has brought it up that I remember is portrayed as unhinged and unreasonable. In Episode 8, The Hurt Stalker, Pam was chanting Furguson in her cell after a pot bust. Here, she's complaining about the lack of a body camera on Clive. Being upset about Furguson and what routinely happens with police is not unreasonable. Not by a long shot. But what's happening here just seems super tone deaf and clumsy unless I'm missing something. It takes me out of the show in a big way.

That said, it's nice that shit is going down. Rita doesn't seem like one to let go of a grudge, so I'm interested to see what happens next.

Didn't Blaine say something about his dad cutting off Cindy's fingers previously?!

Anyway, now we know how you re-become a zombie. God call, indeedy. I can't wait for Blaine to go after Boss now, just for kicks.

Yeah, Cher got away with it. I fear for France.
