Shut Up And Drive!

I've started a new club dedicated to vintage car & road movies.
I'm planning on posting once a week, and hopefully, having some screenings on cytube at:
https://cytu.be/r/ShutUpAndDrive
Fridays are my best bet to post, and here's a list of what's coming up:
Vanishing Point
The Driver
Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry
Duel
Gator
Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
Bullitt
Easy Rider
White Line Fever
Smokey and The Bandit
Electra Glide in Blue
And more contemporary I'll likely do
Drive
Deathproof
Just because they fit the profile.
If you'd like to make some suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I love Duel!
Can we add Cannonball Run? It's probably the only time I'll ever get to discuss that film.

I will absolutely add Cannonball Run to the list miss-lapin! And thanks for the Drive Angry suggestion, hob, I've not heard of that one before.

Oh and Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Y Tu Mamá También, and Fandango. (Sorry the more I think about it, the more movies I think of.)

Keep 'em coming!
I've upped the schedule to twice a week, mondays and fridays. I don't know if I'll be able to stream all the titles, but I have got Two-Lane Blacktop on tap for 9:00 pm ET tonight at https://cytu.be/r/ShutUpAndDrive.

Little Miss Sunshine. It's definitely a road movie and that van is a major part of the film.

I haven't seen it, but I nominate an early member of the genre: Thunder Road (1958) with Robert Mitchum. Looks appropriate.

How about Death Race 2000, The Gumball Rally, or The Wraith?
Yes I realize these are awful movies

MoonOrb, I think those are perfectly good movies for this club. I mean, for certain of these, the perceived "awfulness" is part of the charm.
Bigendian, I dunno about planes and trains.... But I suspect as we move on we could probably include it under the "road movie" rubric.
And I'm searching frantically for Thunder Road!
We'll be watching Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry this Friday at 9:00 pm ET. Check the club for the link.

I'm in favor of leaning away from roadtrip movies. There are so many and honestly I have more things to watch than "The Sure Thing." That said, I probably already have "Planes Trains" memorized.

Those 3 are not awful movies. I think they're awesome for what they are. Also, all of the actors did their own driving in Gumball Rally.
How about the original Italian Job movie? And Cannonball? No, not Cannonball Run but Cannonball which is directed by the same guy who did Death Race 2000.

Speaking of Paul Bartel, there is also Ron Howard's Grand Theft Auto.

Honestly? Me too. I mean, if there aren't protracted chase scenes with cop cars being crashed into medians, it's not really the same, is it? Oh, and yeah, Grand Theft Auto was always on the list (in the back of mind at least, heh.)

Yes, and I wasn't aware of "just" Cannonball, so thanks for that! I'll add it to the list!
