Arrow: Genesis
May 5, 2016 6:43 AM - Season 4, Episode 20 - Subscribe

As Oliver and Felicity look for a magical solution to defeat Darhk, a vengeance-driven Diggle gets a lead on Andy's whereabouts and heads off to confront his brother. Meanwhile, Alex takes Thea on a vacation that quickly turns into a nightmare.

So, we finally find out what Genesis is really about, and also what Rubicon that Waller mentioned before her death really contains. I can't say I feel that sorry for Andy and Diggle. We knew since the introduction of Darhk and the Ghosts that they were willing to do anything for him once they took the magic pill.

I guess Alex chose Thea as his plus one to this Noah's bunker, not knowing she's Speedy? That must have been a trip. Also, why pretend there are dogs and birds in this bunker if you haven't had time to put any down there yet?

I'm disappointed that Oliver "suddenly" was able to overcome Darhk's magic. It would've been so much more awesome to have Felicity, the light, to be the one to learn how to repel it and take on Darhk.

It's Malcolm Merlin trying to protect his daughter.

Ah good point. I had forgotten he actually cares about someone. It's getting harder to believe that since he went all in on Darhk.

[comic-nerd-on]So is Esrin Fortuna supposed to be the CWDCU version of Madame X? And I can't imagine Vic Sage being too happy that there is a magical nexus in his city. [/comic-nerd-off]

I really thought they were going to let Felicity be the hero this time around. I know that's silly of me, but I like the juxtaposition of the computer/science/tech member being the one to have to deal with channeling inexplicable mystical forces. Being the team's magic expert would allow Felicity out in the field a little more.

So how slow are ARGUS agents? Initially Lyla told Diggle he'd have backup in five minutes--10 minutes max. Andy was cuffed to the post. Surely somebody could have shown up before Dharhk arrived and taken him into custody. Or why didn't John just knock him out and haul him back? (Okay he was wounded so I can give him a pass on this option.)

I hadn't considered Thea's imprisonment to be the result of Merlin's actions, but that's as good a theory as any.

So now that they've killed off Rose (Phaedra Nixon/red-headed evil council member), can we get some other Republic of Doyle regulars to show up?

You'd think with all that money and tech they'd have a better nature sound track.

"Well, that was a fun bit of business."

Say what you will about this season, you just gotta love Damien Dahrk's joie de vivre.

Oh he's an excellent bad guy. One thing I do like about this show is that they pick great actors and actresses for the villains.

Lyla mentioned something about Argus troops bring occupied at their headquarters, I wonder if that accounts for why they didn't show up for Diggle.

Don't you know that's how you end up with a Dr. Doom?

nb: I am not entirely opposed to Felicity becoming the CWDCU's version of Doctor Doom

Right? I mean, have they actually tested having people live there for any length of time, because I'm pretty confident that a 15-second repeating loop of birds chirping and dogs barking, 24/7, will quickly drive all the inhabitants batshit homicidal crazy. Unless that's part of the plan?

One more scene with Digg dramatically holding a gun at his brother's head and I was going to shoot myself.

Surely I'm not the only one who half-expected a giant white balloon to chase Thea back to her assigned cottage.
