Person of Interest: SNAFU
May 10, 2016 10:50 PM - Season 5, Episode 2 - Subscribe

The Machine experiences a glitch during rebooting, supplying Reese and Fusco with the numbers of dozens of people not actually involved in crimes, while also locking Finch and Root out after identifying them as threats based on past violent behavior.

A sort-of companion piece to the season opener, "B.S.O.D.," Episode 2 opens with a scene in which The Machine fails to put names to faces, or matches whole bodies and outfits up with different voices and personas. What follows is an examination of the importance, or lack thereof, of context in sizing up threats. There is black, there is white, and then there's grayscale.

The face-swapping scene was hilarious, and the actors involved did a great job portraying each other. Root as Harold was especially good.

Everyone doing deadpans of each other was great.

Have they done the face-swapping trick before, or was it just that they put out clips of the scene sometime during this long hiatus? I was distracted from the coolness by extreme deja vu.

They apparently did put out a clip somewhere at some point (some con), but I thought it was more of a gag reel thing. I guess not!

If we didn't have so few episodes left, I would have enjoyed a bit more of the "faceswapping." Watching them play each other was such fun.
