I vaguely remember this series but I confess it's been ages since I've watched mecha shows overall. I found out about it via Tumblr and thought it looked interesting.

I grew up on Voltron, even had an awesome Voltron toy, but the general basics almost elude me since I haven't gone back to it since elementary school. That said, the team they have on it, many Legend of Korra alums, has already sold me on it. I will be tuning in!

After suffering through reboots of He-Man and Thundercats (the former more dismal than the latter), this one makes me feel really hopeful. The production staff (both animators and voice cast), all the videos, and character bios released so far look really good.

What little I remember of the old cartoon doesn't quite jive with new stuff, but in an interesting way (and hopefully in a way that gives me feels, to use kind of a stale Tumblr term). There's two things I'm really looking forward to: Steven Yeun (Glenn from The Walking Dead) as Keith (guy in red), and the interaction between Lance (who gives me a Sokka vibe) and Allura (who now looks like Yue from ATLA, at least in coloring).

Voltron used to be part of my daily after school viewing block while I munched on my afternoon snacks. I even had this awesome toy with all five cats which combined together (I feel like I lost a tail at some point and maybe one of the cats). With all that said, I have purposefully not gone back and re-watched the old show in preparation for this new one. I'm trying to keep my nostalgia low and to be honest, I'm expecting more due to the credentials of those involved than anything else. We're just a few days away, I can't wait.

Did we want to try and parcel out the episodes or just drop a catch all post?

The series has dropped. I've seen the first 20 minutes before real life interrupted and I had to come to work. You can definitely see why it was referred to as Korra 2.0 in terms of production value and what not. Studio Mir still has what it takes to kick butt in animation along with Dreamworks.

Atreides: I don't mind either way really. I just saw some promo art and thought it looked interesting. I could do a catch-all post if no one else volunteers too.
