I would watch en entire hour just of Helena hanging out in the woods, hunting/trapping, and terrifying naive motorists who happen to pass by....

Yeah, that was pretty great. Helena was definitely the high point, especially her executing the Neolution heavy even after he was clearly surrendering. (Helena's been my favorite ever since this moment.)

I also loved Rachel's power play, and am waiting for her to double cross Sarah again later. I tend to agree with the AV Club review that Evie Cho was never a real match for the Clone Club, but Rachel is.

Was he ? I thought he made a lunging motion towards Allison.

Looked like he was raising his hands in surrender, but I could be mistaken.

It hardly matters whether he was surrendering I think. Helena, being a cagey operator herself, knows cagey operators look for advantages. She knows that guy was a cagey operator. She waits until her arrow won't hit Allison then executes him, giving him no chances to stall or evade or do any of the other cagey operator things that might get him out of the predicament. Also, fuck that guy, and I hope his stupid girlfriend gets an arrow in the neck next. DELPHINE!!

That was more where I was going with that - Helena doesn't care. She's ruthlessly efficient and she's still the deadliest major character on that show, even while that pregnant.

"I don't think that hat was store-bought" also about killed me.

The extra scene where Helena freaks those kids out was pure gold.

He did both. When Helena came through the door, he turned and started to hold up one hand. Then, he made a quick lunge at Allison to put the bot in her mouth and Helena shot.

Anyway, he look like man who threatens bebbis.
You should not threaten bebbis.

Show needs a spinoff: Helena Unchained.

Something that I've noticed throughout this season is how strong and well-defined the personalities of the individual clones are, save for Sarah, who has seemed to be pretty unfocused and rambling of late. Even in appearance, Sarah seems much more disheveled than usual.

Maybe Tatlany has (for the sake of her sanity?) reduced the other clones to precise stereotypes, playing them as very restricted personalities, and that makes Sarah's "realness" seem unfocused or random?

I think Sarah is coming a bit undone, the stress of keeping everybody safe is getting to her, just like it got to Beth.

I'm still dissatisfied by the "explanation" of Beth's suicide, she saw the horrible clinic, fake boyfriend, neolution and had the creepy implant, a lot, but how does that, oh now that I type it that's way more than I could handle. Still there seems to be one more detail the pushed her over the edge.

I just wanna go on a hunting trip with Helena.

I was a skeptic, thought she must be evil, but hoping Adele swoops in and saves the day, at least in one sub-plot.

Oh, also? Donnie runs the cell block.

So Delphine is on the island, right? She's with the man & his group who are streaming visions into Rachel's eye.

Can someone remind me why Adele apparently knows who "Pouchy" is, and about "the killings" (her words)? I thought the only thing she was aware of wrt to the Hendrixes was their pill trafficking.

And even if she knows that some drug trafficker was killed during the Hendrixes' dealings with him, why "killings" plural? She doesn't know anything about Leeky, right?

I need to go back and rewatch...

I'm still dissatisfied by the "explanation" of Beth's suicide

I thought it was believable that Beth gave up/surrendered, after her encounter with Susan and with Evie. I don't think she really wanted to die, or was suicidal (maybe somewhat because of her relationship with Paul, but I don't think that drove her). She did what Evie suggested and turned the gun on herself in order to protect the others.

As a cop she had really and truly made a hash of things, killing a civilian (she didn't even have a chance to find out Maggie Chen was neolution did she?) and fucking Art "both ways." She thought the clones had reached the end of the line and killed herself so that her case/involvement couldn't be used against them.

I'm assuming Delphine is on the island but that wasn't particularly clear to me.

It wasn't just Pouchy that was killed. His niece and henchman were also done in by Helena.

Trivia from The Hive: Helena's hiss at Adele was improvised by Maslany and surprised everyone on set. That link also has a hilarious photo of Maslany as Helena resting between takes.

"I was a skeptic, thought she must be evil, but hoping Adele swoops in and saves the day, at least in one sub-plot."

I've been a fan of this character all along and I'm kind of worried that they have actually ushered her offstage. That seems unlikely, given that they just showed her half-clued-in to the Clone Club -- surely they're going to follow-up on that? But maybe they just feel they need to set her aside for the time being. But, also, Donnie needs legal representation.

The Pouchy thing was notable in that it was a multiple homicide involving a drug dealer and it seems likely that given what Donnie was charged with, Adele was aware of this.

Oh, true. But whatever knowledge Adele has of all this happened off-screen didn't it?

Ivan Fyodorovich, I'm a fan too, but I think this was just wrapping up the B plot for the season; I'm sure she'll be back... it was super sad, though, having Felix see her off.

Trivia from The Hive

It didn't strike me until I read that, that they've already done a lot of the heavy lifting as far as wrapping up major plotlines (Evie's comeuppance, Adele's departure, Delphine's reveal) so I am really curious to see what they'll be focusing the finale/denouement of the season on.

It reminds me in a way of True Blood (the good years), where they'd always wrap up the season's story early in the final episode so they could lay a bunch of groundwork for the next season.

Orphan Black renewed for fifth and final season

Yeah, it's not clear to me how they intend to wrap up this season. The 'next time' clips and images don't give much away. Without being spoilery I will say the preview scene released today is one of the funniest bits they've ever done.
