Ash vs Evil Dead: Home
October 2, 2016 7:39 PM - Season 2, Episode 1 - Subscribe
Into each Jacksonville, a little rain must fall.
*Ash's eternal kegger is interrupted by a mother/daughter deadite attack, triggered by Ruby casting a summoning for his help from back in his home town of Elk's Grove, so he and Kelly and Pablo hit the road.
*Lee Majors! as Ash's father, Brock Williams.
*One of the freaky visions Pablo has been having since he got book-faced by Ruby leads them to her at the crematorium.
*Ash has a fight with his shadow, Kelly has a fight with herself, and Pablo makes himself briefly invisible using his inherited pendant.
*Ruby offers a truce, and a return to happy Jacksonville, if they'll help her regain the book and defeat her 'children.'

I did love that the time-to-gooblast for this ep was something like 8 seconds.

Wow, the first season ended in January; second season premieres in Sept/Oct.
Loving it! Second season lets characters have developed relationships and everyone is fully onboard with being ostracized for seeing the truth. I'm kinda down on Pedro's servility, but Stockholm Syndrome and having to deal with Ash... and being repeatedly face-raped by someone else's face who was used as an evil bookcover for however so long.
Very self aware, some nice callbacks to Evil Dead 2 (as opposed to AoD), some nice new stuff. There were some effects that looked 'old school' rather that CGI - I wonder if it was, or just CGI made to look that way. Visual framing remains top notch. Promising to be better than it needs to be.

So I was trying to find out who plays Ash's dad - shoutout: kittens for breakfast - and had only a passing knowledge of Lee fucking Majors until I looked him up!
Lee Majors explains why he took on 'Ash vs. Evil Dead' role [fauxnews(at-least-its-just-their-entertainment-segment)]

So nice to see these goofballs again. I don't like Linda the waitress' chances of surviving the season, what with being the only woman in town who likes Ash, but, oh well.

I've been saying for years now that I'm only watching The Walking Dead for the ridiculous injury zombies and the set pieces of bonkers violence. Ash vs. Evil Dead is better at both ridiculous injury Deadites and set pieces of bonkers violence by a country mile, plus it has characters that are actually fun to spend time with.
I am so happy that this is back on that air.

One of the things I liked about the first season was the reckless joy expressed by the buckets of goo. For some reason, the opening scene didn't do that for me until about halfway through when, suddenly, it became fun again. Lots of fun.
I love this show so, so much.

I was so happy to see this back, and I'm even happier at the idea of Lucy Lawless in a frenemy teamup. :)

Holy toledo, I hadn't been following the news and had no idea Lee Majors was in this season, how cool is that. I hope he gets more screen time than Mimi Rogers.
And I hope Lucy Lawless has more time with the gang this season. I assume she was off on her own due to scheduling issues last season.
Groovy.

I love this show. I didn't realize it was back until I saw the Fanfare post, and the joy in my heart was inexpressible. YAY!
