I found the series fairly absorbing. I often wanted to shake the main character, though! She's so self destructive.

It certainly didn't pull any punches. There were a couple of times I thought, oh they certainly won't go there...OH WOW they did. I also liked how her rages and blackouts made her an ambiguous character. We don't know exactly what she's done or is capable of. There's still a faint air of menace hanging over her.

I really liked this series, in part because I really didn't like Marcella much, and I found it fascinating to watch a show where the protagonist was someone who annoyed me. They weren't afraid to make her quite unsympathetic much of the time, which is refreshing. Well worth a watch.

the sound design and music are also fantastic in this, if I remember correctly.

We just started watching this one. It's definitely compelling. We do seem to be having trouble keeping up with the characters, as it seems like someone new keeps getting dropped into the middle of events just as you think you've gotten a handle on things.

There are so many characters! Maybe a few too many. And it's also a series of love triangles and crime within a crime within a crime and also, possibly a red herring crime thrown in just for fun? Just to keep us off the scent, per the main conceit...?

I love having so many women on screen who aren't lovable. It's damn refreshing. There was more than a little bit of willing-suspension-of-disbelief in the second to last episode but it was pretty gripping.

Did you guys watch Borderliner? I watched that first a few months ago and loved the lead actor Tobias Santelmann and not just 'cause he's a total hottie. I haaaaated his character in Marcella so it was kind of a crazy twist how he ended up.
