Episode Information!

"Bombad Jedi" is the eighth episode of Season One of The Clone Wars and the twelfth in chronological viewing order. For more on the episode, check out the episode guide here!

Official Synopsis
"Heroes are made by the times." On a diplomatic mission to the planet Rodia, Padmé; discovers that her old friend and fellow Republic senator Onaconda Farr has allied his planet with the Separatists. In exchange for food and resources for his people, Onaconda captures Padmé and promises to deliver her to the Nute Gunray. Sensing Padmé is in trouble, Jar Jar Binks disguises himself as a Jedi, and with the help of C-3PO, courageously fights to rescue his friend and fellow senator.
Trivia!
  • Padme claims that she's been best friends with Senator Farr since she was a little girl, when he was her father's "strongest ally in the Senate." However, Padme's father, Ruwie Naberrie was not a Senator, so must have been associated with the Galactic Senate, through his career as an educator, builder, and relief worker.
  • The purple turban-like headress worn by Padme is based off a white shroud variation that was designed but not used in Attack of the Clones.
  • The episode features the Rodian salute of greeting, open hands, palm-down, crossed over the chest.
  • Senator Farr refers to Jar Jar as "Master Bombad," but the dialogue where Farr first identified that name with Jar Jar was cut from the episode.
  • The Kwazel Maw design is based off an unused Ralph McQuarrie design for a swamp slug creature on Dagobah.
Next time on The Clone Wars!

The next episode in the chronological viewing order is "Cloak of Darkness," episode nine of Season One!

A tough sell. Toughest sell of all, really, in Star Wars terms. It ends up... not entirely horrible? It does not cause the entire animated franchise to burst into flames, at least.
